The Living Room Podcast Ep. 1: Mardi Gras Came Early This Year

Mardi Gras is French for "Fat Tuesday", reflecting the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season. And after metaphorically fasting for seemingly forever, the New Orleans Pelicans are eating like they never have before.

Following the NBA All-Star weekend, the big news dropped that the Sacramento Kings agreed to trade DeMarcus Cousins to the New Orleans Pelicans for Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, and 2017 1st-round and 2nd-round draft picks.

This trade was obviously lopsided, but when you factor in how important the Kings felt it was to "change their culture", you can at least try to understand the reason for the deal.

E'Twaun Moore (6'4'') and Tim Frazier (6'1'') both provide a nice change of pace, but neither can matchup with today's guards from a height/length perspective, which puts an extreme amount of pressure on the back-line defense for New Orleans.

In the inaugural segment from my new podcast "The Living Room", me and my roommate/life-long Chicagoan Peter Bonello take about two minutes to go over our thoughts on the DeMarcus Cousins/New Orleans Pelicans deal:
